Millions

..."And we'll give it all to the poor."
"Where are you gonna find poor people?"
"There's loads of poor people!"
"Not around here, the house prices keep them all out."
OK, I haven't posted on this blog for awhile, so here goes. I rented a movie called Millions over the weekend, because I had heard some good things about it. It's about a boy who finds himself the owner of a large fortune, which turns out to have been stolen money. The movie struck me because there is some Catholic influence. For example, the boy is always reading stories about the saints, and has conversations with them. Anyway, while Damian wants to donate the money to the poor, his older brother Anthony wants to spend it as fast as he can. It's funny to see how differently the two brothers want to use their fortune. The thing about the money is that the currency is in British pounds, and it will soon be converted into Euros at the end of the year.
This is one of those cute, family movie types. If you were wanted something with more action, look somewhere else. Regardless, this movie has its redeeming qualities, and don't worry the religion part doesn't seem like an overbearing element in the movie. Personally I thought it was pretty funny and smart, and it's hard not to love the kid when he asks the Mormons on their bikes if they are poor. Haha, otherwise I wouldn't be posting about it. j/k... Anyway, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I Am Snape... the Potions Master

Harry Potter

PG-13 for Frightening Images and Some Violence (something like that).

Harry goes to his 4th year in Hogwarts and mysteriously gets drafted for the Triwizard Tournament, a dangerous competition between schools involving in rare cases... death.
The 4th movie of the series turned out to be a bitter disappointment, far worse in my eyes than all the others. The director skipped through so many scenes, put in so small amount of talking that it was boring. And to make it worse the director put in his own things which he thought would be "cool".

Music was good, acting kind of sad, it didnt have too much talking for me to notice. The graphics and all that for dragons and such were really good, but that, besides the plot, was the only good thing.... 2 stars, leaning towards 1 and a half.

I'll See Your Confession Afterwards

Alright, so our blog is dying... really dying... and I thought it might be good to do a review on it!

Legend of Zorro (Zorro II) Starring Antonio Bernarndes and Catherine Zeta Jones

Rated PG for some violence, and thematic elements and stuff (Did I say stuff? I'm losing my taste...). Zorro kicks off with Zorro (Antonio) saving California which was turning into a state. But has troubles when he breaks his promise with his wife (and they do have a son!) about giving Zorro up divorce comes, and even more... The plot was pretty good and it goes and goes so I dont really want to spoil it for you (or I'm just being lazy).

The plot was good, but I couldnt help thinking it all was based for little kids, it was only pg of course, but only a few people died compared to the first one. And every other step Zorro took was a flip or something... its like he joined the circus and couldnt help himself! Overall though I thought it did good so 3 of 5 stars my friends... goodnight.

as the curtain closes...

So, the musical is finally over after tremendous success! 5 of our 6 performances sold out, the one that didn't was an extra show, added because of the success of it. This is the first time in 6 years that an extra show was added. We almost sold it out too...600 some tickets were sold out of a possible 700. I'm sad that it's over, cuz it was so much fun, but I'm glad that it's over cuz now I get to sleep, and I was allergic to the stage make-up..that wasn't cool. But now I have the Madrigal to look foreward to.
