Oh Bugger

There has been many different views upon the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, but I have finally come to write my review upon it to end all disputes. After all, my reviews are known nationwide!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (at least, I think)

Rated PG-13 for violence, and something else that basically means "violence", Pirates hits off with its plot. Will and Elizabeth are too be married soon, but are stopped by the kings asking to have them arrested for knowing Captain Jack Sparrow. The man in charge of arresting them also has something he wants back from Sparrow, though. So he sends Will to go find Sparrow and find what he wants back, the compass. If Will doesn't find it, Elizabeth will be sentenced to death. So as Will finds Sparrow, he is headed off for a hunt for a key. But gosh I just remembered that the plot goes on and on and on and on so I cant really tell you EVERYthing! So. The movie starts off really bad, in my opinion. Everything was too rushed and I couldn't hear or understand one word (well, maybe ten at the most). But then it gets more into the plot, everything, including the talking, was audible, and everything explains itself and gets much more intense. So it definitely carries itself back up. I would give this movie a 4 and a half (****^). Good music, so-so acting, and a great plot. Not to mention those stunning graphics.

Also! There is one of the better ones this year.

Nacho Libre!

PG for some violence, language, and partial-rear nudity. Nacho is about a Mexican friar who obviously wasn't meant for the religious life (religious as in becoming a friar). All he does is cook food with no ingredients for the orphans taken care of at the monastery. Then he gets the ideas (hahaha that s was on accident but it fit in so well for those who have watched the movie) to wrestle for money to buy good food and ingredients for the orphans. Also along with the story, Nacho has a strong love for a nun, who he tries to impress throughout the movie.
So this movie is close to being a bit offensive, but the movie never states whether Nacho is a priest or has taken his final vows, or even if the nun has, so its close, but not close enough! The music was one of the best you can get for a soundtrack, the acting was perfect; just in the style of Napoleon Dynamite, and the humor was brilliant. I was laughing through the whole movie. I'd give it a ****^.

I've watched more, but these were my two favs so far in theatres. Definitely movies you must watch.

I'm for serious this time...

On the surface, Michael Newman (Adam Sandler) seems to have it all, yet with all the demands forced upon him by his ungrateful boss Ammer (David Hasselhoff), Michael finds that setting aside time to spend with his loving wife, Donna (Kate Beckinsale), and two picture-perfect children, Ben (Joseph Castanon) and Samantha (Tatum McCann), has grown increasingly difficult. When a frustrating bout with the television remote leads the overworked husband and father to a nearby Bed, Bath & Beyond in search of a universal remote with the power to control all of his electronic devices, a curious peek into the back room leads Michael into the company of eccentric employee and talented inventor Morty (Christopher Walken). It seems that Morty has created a device that will not only allow Michael complete control over his television and stereo, but his entire life as well. As Michael discovers that the remarkable device has the power to muffle the barks of the family dog, zoom himself past an irritating quarrel with his wife, and even allow him to travel back and forth through time to different points in his life, the rush of being able to skip straight to the good parts in life soon leaves him feeling as if he's missing out on the total experience. Only when Michael begins to realize that the he has lost control of his life and the remote is now programming him does he finally learn that life is as much about the moments he'd rather forget as it is the moments he will always remember.

This movie will make you laugh, cry and really appreciate the time you have with your family. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars...cuz, seriously!!! It has Christopher Walken AND David Hasselhoff!!
