The Longest Yard

I just saw this the other day, and loved it!

The Longest Yard (re-make- starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, and Bert Reynolds) is a story about an ex-pro football player (Sandler) who's life goes down the drain and eventually leads him to prison. The warden, a devoted football fan has started a team of the prison gaurds, and inquires that Sandler's character create a team of prisoners for the gaurds to play against (thinking the gaurds will win, lift the teams' spirits and lead them on to a great season) However, when Sandler's inmate friend (Rock) is murdered, the tables turn and the prisoners want revenge. With some expert coaching from fellow inmate (Reynolds) the team faces the gaurds in what is truely the game of the century.

As He Was, And Ever Shall Be... Frank Sinatra

Yeah, so this movie is a great movie, funny and heartwarming. You would/should love it.

Return To Me
Starring Minni Driver and David Deucovney (Is that how you spell it?), this "Return to Me" is about two people, one, Bob, (David) who's wife is dead and needs a girlfriend because he is depressed. Two, Grace, (Driver) who needed a heart transplant and finds Bob thanks to her grandfather. The two date until they get to know each other, but the thing is, do they?
This isn't the exact plot, but I'm doing the best I can. I enjoyed the music (Some of the classics), the plot was really good. And it is immensely funny. Five stars for sure.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.......

OK. Here is my first post on this awesome blog. Now, I know that we post news here, but we aren't really news reporters and stuff. So, I was wondering about what we do to get the news posted on here. What kind of paper do you get? What news stations do you prefer to watch? Do you listen to certain radio stations to get the latest story on such and such? Well, I usually read the Scaramento Bee for more of the local stuff. I really don't have a favorite news station so I watch them all; ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and something that airs on BBC. Now, as for the radio, I like to listen to Micheal Savage. This guy is very different to many other talk show hosts. He believes that liberalism is a mental disorder, he dislikes people that don't tell the truth (I believe Savage states the true facts), and is always shutting down people talking on his line cuz everyone always usually disagrees with him, and they therefore disagree with the truth. So send me you answeres to my question and hoppefully get around to listening to a full session of Micheal Savage. His show runs from 3:00-6:00 p.m. pt on AM 650.
And for those of you who think that cuz Mike likes Savage I got started with it, you're wrong. I was listening to him before I was told about him from anyone.
Jeeps!

So, if y'all wanna come see the show, it'll be November 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, and 12th. We always put on one heck-of-a-show, and we are hiring the same flying company that flew Mary Martin in the original Peter Pan...sweet!

Movie:Sahara

If you guys haven't seen this, you should...
SAHARA rated PG-13 for action violence
Scouring the ocean depths for treasure-laden shipwrecks is business as usual a thrill-seeking underwater adventurer and his wisecracking buddy. The cross paths with a World Health Organization doctor who is looking for the source of a rapid spreading disease. The three find that they are searching for the same thing in the African Desert. One is looking for a naval warship that went missing during the Civil War for historical reasons, the other for the toxins it's releasing into the drinking water of the African people. Of course, the government doesn't like them snooping around, and tries to "take care of it". Awesome adventure film that all will enjoy.

News: Why Not Use the Buses?

An aerial view of flooded school buses in a lot, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, in New Orleans, LA. The flood is a result of Hurricane Katrina that passed through the area last Monday.(AP Photo/Phil Coale)

I saw this and someone made a good point. Why did the mayor skip the idea that people can evacuate using buses such as these, and cars that can be sold somewhere? They seemed to have just sat there...

More news; At least 200 cops in New Orleans have quit there job, and 2 have already committed suicide. They are reportedly saying that they cannot take the pressure of being sent to a post where angry mobs are, stuck without anything to do but save their own life, and walk around in dirty water. Also there is a lack of equipment, many police members have to use their own weapons.
Many officers still doing their job are very angry with those who are quitting; ""For all you cowards that are supposed to wear the badge," one officer said on Fox News, "are you truly - can you truly wear the badge, like our motto said?"" (Compliments to The New York Times).

Movie: Hotel Rwanda

Hey guys, I know there hasn't been a post for awhile so here goes. I just finished watching this movie (around 11:15). It was extremely good; I haven't watched a movie for a long time that had me so interested. The setting is in Rwanda (obviously), during a civil war in 1994 in which genocide on a horrible scale was committed by some members of a racial group called the Hutus, against members of a minority race in Rwanda called the Tutsis. The movie follows the story of the ordeals of a hotel manager named Paul Rusesabagina (a compassionate Hutu), who was caught up in the middle of all this. His hotel became a refuge of last resort for Tutsis and Hutus alike, who were escaping from the Interhamwe (the armed Hutu militia who comitted much of the genocide against the Tutsis). I give this movie 5 stars, and hopefully you will get to watch it when or if you have time. Besides it being a riveting movie, this is one movie that will make you learn so much about a different culture, and think about some pretty controversial issues and events in history. Too bad we didn't pick this movie for the movie night party at my house. Personally I think we would have been able to handle it, and it is good enough that we can look past the violence and blood. Oh well...

News: Iraqi Night

Iraqi Night

The pictures were taken from an AC130 Specter gunship (plane) two and a half miles away. The guys in the picture are setting up a roadside bomb and planning to ambush an American convoy which followed a short while after the pictures were taken. They were setting up for the ambush and were pacing off the distance from the bomb to where the convoy was to pass by. Turn your sound up. The level of effort these crews put forth to control the enemy's antics is commendable, and their marksmanship with those electronically controlled 40mm cannons is astounding.

This is what they don't show on the news...what our guys deal with everyday.

News: Info About This Blog

This is a new blog that, thanks to Jack for the idea, contains both movie reviews and news so that we may be able to save some time. It does not matter whether you post on either subject, as long as you do a post :-D. The rules for this blog are the same as the news blog and the review blog, just merged together. One extra bit though is that when posting something, try to put what you are posting to save confusion and chaos. Such as "News:" for news. Lets hope everything works out and that all goes well. God Bless
